Why a new centre rents its first fleet
A capability centre rarely hires all at once. Renting lets the device count follow the hiring plan month by month, so headquarters approves one rate card instead of a capital request for every wave.
Be clear on the cost. Over three years, rent at 4.5% of MRP a month costs more than buying outright, even after GST credit and tax. Run your own numbers in the rent-or-buy calculator. Renting earns its place when first-year cash, a moving headcount plan or the work of running a fleet matters more than the three-year total.
How a centre’s fleet is supplied

What headquarters will ask
Who is invoiced: the Indian entity that runs the centre, in rupees, every month in advance with 18% GST. A GST-registered entity claims that GST as input tax credit. The detail is in how billing works for foreign companies.
Who controls the devices: you do. They sit in your Apple Business Manager and your device management for the whole term, exactly as a bought Mac would. AppleCare+ covers the term, including up to two accidental damage incidents per device.
What the keyboards are: Macs supplied in India carry the US English keyboard. Teams used to another layout can switch the input language in macOS; the key caps stay US English.
Configurations engineering teams ask for
Most centres standardise on MacBook Air for business roles and MacBook Pro for engineering. Build machines and heavy local workloads go on Mac Studio. Built-to-order Macs with 48GB, 64GB or 128GB of memory are ordered from Apple to your specification and take four to six weeks.

Can the contract be with our parent company abroad?
Invoices go to an Indian entity with a GSTIN, so the GST credit sits where the cost does. That is usually the entity that runs the centre. Tell us how the centre is set up and the quote sets out who signs.
Can you quote before our Indian entity is registered?
Yes. We can quote against your hiring plan at any point. The order is placed once there is an Indian entity to invoice, or your employer of record rents on your behalf until then.
How long does a first fleet take?
Models in stock are delivered on the date confirmed on the quote. Built-to-order configurations take four to six weeks from Apple.
